Creating Peace, Joy and Abundance in a Chaotic World

It can be hugely challenging to stay centred, calm and have faith when there is so much conflict and change going on in the world and possibly also in our own lives as a result of it. The world is experiencing great change at a fast rate, and chaos is an aspect of transformation.

As the world changes, we’re all being required to transform, and to transform quickly. 

The Universal Law of Challenges deems that challenges are here to wake us up. They’re not sent to destroy us but to grow us. Everything is happening as it should, even if we don’t think so. 

It’s inevitable that at times you’re going to experience emotional pain as you transform from your old self into your new self. This is a part of the process of transformation, but it doesn’t last. Ram Dass said “Despair is the necessary prerequisite before we go to the next level of consciousness.”

So much is happening in the world – war, power and control, terrorism, AI, planetary changes, inequality. You may find yourself feeling hopeless and helpless. But it’s all here to wake us up. You’re not here to give your power away to any of this. You’re here to find the power within you. And I’m not talking about ego power. I’m talking about spiritual power. 

Sometimes we get backed into a corner, where the only way is up! I know that it’s only by going through very painful challenges in my own life that I turned to this Source greater than myself. There was nowhere else to go! And THIS is what it’s really all about. And when you start creating spiritual connection and attaining spiritual knowledge, you become the power in your life. You have the power to transform your own life, because the world is shaped through consciousness. And by doing this, you become an inspiration to others.

There are no accidents. As more and more people are waking up and becoming conscious creators, they’re being tested. We’re all being tested. Will you remain loyal to your values, hopes and dreams or will you allow fear and lack to take over? 

Your inner world needs to be your primary focus, and not the outer world. Do not source your peace from the outer world, because it is guaranteed to disappoint you. Source your peace from within. This is the Universal Law of Correspondence which deems  “As within, so without”.

The outer world is in a crazy state. How can you source your peace from that? How can you remain peaceful and even joyful? How do you still stay true to your values, hopes and dreams and create, or continue to create, a life that you love? Here are ten things you can do.

  1. Acceptance. When you accept everything as it is, you are saying to the Universe “I accept that you have a plan here that I may not yet understand, but I trust in all of this.” Acceptance is an act of faith. Know that everything is happening for your highest good, even if you don’t understand why yet. The Universal Law of Acceptance deems that what we resist will persist, but what we accept has the power to change. 
  1. Consciously decide that everything ultimately works out for you. Say the affirmation every day that “Everything is working in my favour and things always work out for me”.
  1. Stay aware of how you are perceiving things. The stoic philosopher Epictetus taught that “it is not things that disturb us, but our interpretation of them”.  Our reactions, perceptions, and judgments regarding events determine our emotional state, not the events themselves. We cannot control other people or many external circumstances, but we can always control how we think about them. And this is where our power lies. 
  1. Continue to choose actions that are in alignment with your values, hopes and dreams. Stay on your path! Don’t get side-tracked. The Universal Law of Action deems that when we take action towards what we aspire to, the Universe gets behind us and assists. All things can be achieved through peaceful or inspired action, taking the path of least resistance, just as water flows. You don’t need to battle or fight. If you experience a challenge, you look for the easiest possible solution. This is the Law of Least Resistance.
  1. Become aware of when you’re in fear. When people go into fear they don’t think or act rationally. I saw it last week with everyone queuing up to “panic buy” petrol. We saw it in in the Covid pandemic with people panic buying at supermarkets. Don’t buy into the fear! Self-awareness is imperative if you are to shift from fear to love. When you have the ability to observe your thoughts, that’s very powerful. Because not every thought is the truth. Many thoughts are fearful and based on lack, and this is why I highly recommend a daily meditation practice.
  1. Stay present. Most of us are not present a lot of the time. We’re either focusing on the future or dwelling on the past. Meditation will fast-track you to greater presence. When you’re present, you’ll find peace.
  1. Know that you are the power in your life. You can observe the movie, whether it’s world politics or a personal drama, and you have the power to respond and not react. 
  1. Don’t allow the things you have no control of to rent a space in your head. Many of us feel guilty if we’re not worrying about others who are going through a lot of hardship. But what is worry? Worry is fearful thinking that uses the Law of Attraction in the worst possible way. Worry, doubt and fear are nothing but prayers for what we do not want. They actually help create the very thing we are worrying about! By all means, have empathy. Do what you can for others. But let go of worrying.
  1. Consciously decide who you want to be and what you want to create. Stay true to your values, hopes and dreams. Ask yourself “Am I living my life as a reaction to the world out there?” or “Am I consciously living the life I want to live?” Know that there is a choice. You are here to live the life you want to live, no matter what the outer circumstances. Be as if you already have it. Sure, outer circumstances may affect you sometimes, but you don’t allow them to destroy what you value, or your intentions.You may be tested some days and drop into a low vibration. It happens to all of us. But with conscious awareness, you can connect back with the Light, back with who you really are, back with love. 
  1. Focus your energy on your microcosm. There’s the Macrocosm (the world) and there’s the Microcosm (your life). Put your energy into your microcosm, because every microcosm has a powerful effect on the macrocosm. By focussing on you, your loved ones, your home, your work, your community, you become the creator of your world and you’ll feel empowered. Too many people are trying to battle the macrocosm, and their microcosm gets overtaken by the putrid energy of the macrocosm. 
  • Meditate and do the things that you love and that nourish you
  • Make your home your sanctuary
  • Do your work with love
  • Give and be helpful to others whenever you can
  • Practise kindness 
  • Practise daily gratitude for all that you have. 

This keeps your vibration high which has a very positive effect on everyone and everything around you. If you do wish to protest, do so in a way that is peaceful, just as Ghandi did. Don’t get caught up in righteous anger and reactivity.

Mother Theresa said “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love”.

The 1960s Australian band The Seekers wrote the words: 

“And I know we will find
There will be peace of mind
When we live in a world o
Of our own”. 

You are the power in your life. You do not need to give your power away to outside circumstances. Have faith in the Universe. It is far more powerful than anything going on in this world. Stay true to your values and your intentions, take life one step at a time, be present.
