As we approach the end of 2024, it’s a wonderful time to find some space to review the year you have had. The philosopher Socrates said “An unexamined life is not worth living”. Year ends are a wonderful opportunity to review, to assess and to let go, which then makes you ready for a new year and renewed intentions. I will be holding live events on Instagram and Insight Timer in the New Year so as to embrace the energy of 2025.
But right now, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, it’s about looking back, going within, slowing down and letting go. The time to actively move forward won’t be until mid-February at the earliest.
The energy of 2024 was intense to say the least, both numerologically and astrologically. With wars going on in many parts of the world, natural disasters and the U.S. election, it was a year where anything could happen, and it certainly did.
As we review the energy of 2024, I encourage you to do your own personal reflections of the year, and I will assist you by providing journalling questions to ask yourself after each paragraph.
2024 was 1 Number Eight Year (2+0+2+4=8). The number 8 relates to the flow of the Universe and can attract conditions that can bring financial benefits or losses. When it comes to business and finance, it could either be a “make or break” year depending on whether you were choosing positive intentions, following your intuition and doing the necessary work, or not. If you have struggled financially, please remember to be kind to yourself. The world is going through a very big shift, as are we, and so financial flow is likely to be less predictable than in the past.

The number 2 means it was a year to give focus to personal relationships. You may have needed to be discerning with relationships – if there were relationship difficulties, did you work on the problems or did you part ways? There is no “right” or “wrong”; just what is right for you. If you’re looking for a partner (personal or business), the energy was supportive. It was a good year to make new friends or to deepen existing friendships. (The two “2s” will be around for another six years, indicating the importance of relationships and healing relationships for the rest of the decade). If you have gone through relationship challenges or if you have had to let go of certain people or they have let go of you, please know that everything happens for a reason. People come into our lives for a reason, season or lifetime. Not everyone is meant to stay.

The number 4 is all about foundational structures and work. 2024 was not a year for sitting back, crossing your fingers, gazing at your navel and hoping for the best. Taking action, good routines and consistent effort were needed in 2024 to achieve your goals and dreams. If you have struggled with motivation, or are working towards something without seeing any results (which can feel very disheartening), it doesn’t mean that you’re not meant to be doing it. Patience and blind faith are needed at times!

2024 was The Year of the Wood Dragon – The Year of the Dragon began on 10 February 2024 and ends on 28 January 2025. A Dragon year is the most venerated year in Chinese astrology because it represents power, strength and higher wisdom, and will foster growth, progress and abundance. The element of wood promotes vitality and creativity.

I surrender the past year to You.
I surrender to You all my achievements and the future hopes that they contain.
I surrender to You all my so-called failures and my disheartenment.
Please transmute it all into power, strength and wisdom,
So that I may begin 2025 in the most Divinely right way.
May my future be filled with love, light, peace and prosperity.
